Brian Lowe

Brian Lowe

I started playing the bugle as a boy in the 5th. Lancashire Army Cadet Force.
In my late teens I joined the army, where I studied music theory as a pastime.
After my demob I took up the Trumpet and had lessons at Parkers brass studio in London’s West End.
I ended up playing in Butlin’s in Ayrshire, the QE2, the Majestic in Leeds, the Star ballroom in Birmingham, The Astoria in Charing Cross road and two years with the Mills Bros. Circus.
I moved to Medway in 2000, joined the Medway Big Band where I played lead trumpet for several years until ill health forced me to take it a little easier.
I also play in the Don Barcott Big Band.
